Andrew Morrisey is an actor, singer and cabaret artist based in New York City. His love of musical theatre began at 4 years old in Nova Scotia, Canada. He found his way into any local theatre production that would cast him and began formal singing lessons at the age of 13 with his beloved teacher, Leslie Lake Searle. Andrew enrolled in Sheridan College’s Music Theatre Performance program, largely considered Canada’s most prestigious conservatory. Upon graduating with honors, he attended the International Cabaret Conference at Yale University, Circle in the Square Theatre School and the Vocal Pedagogy Professional Workshop at Boston Conservatory.
Andrew has performed in plays, musicals and cabarets across North America. He recently starred in the new, award-winning musical, Resurrection, which premiered at the Centaur Theatre in Montreal. He also played Hedwig in Hedwig and the Angry Inch in a Canadian tour that won best musical at the BroadwayWorld Awards in Toronto. He has performed in Off-Broadway shows Dead Serious and The Daerie Queen. An experienced cabaret artist, Andrew has played Manhattan nightclubs over the last 10 years. A recent act was directed by Tony Award winner, Faith Prince.
Andrew also runs a busy vocal studio where he works with actors in New York and online worldwide.
